Your Role
As the SHE Manager, you will act as the multi-site executive leader accountable for the sustainable protection of people, industrial assets, the environment, The Company’s reputation, and its license to operate. You will also fulfil the legal duties of Prevention Advisor Level 1 while positioning the function as a strategic driver of operational excellence. In addition, you will embed safety as a visible, non-negotiable, and culturally anchored operational discipline across all activities.
How You Will Make an Impact

Embed SHE as a strategic pillar in industrial planning by integrating requirements into Long Range Plans (LRP) and Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP), ensuring alignment across all sites.

Define and deploy annual SHE priorities aligned with global and regional standards, driving consistent execution and performance.

Position SHE as a business enabler, strengthening operational reliability, protecting people and assets, and safeguarding The Company’s licence to operate and reputation.

Ensure governance of the Responsible Care® Management System (RC14001) and regulatory compliance across all activities.

Provide visible SHE leadership across Liège and Verviers, fostering a strong safety culture and operational excellence.

Represent The Company towards authorities, auditors, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance and trusted external relations.

Lead SHE performance management through structured reviews, prioritisation, and disciplined execution.

Manage SHE OPEX/CAPEX with strong governance and risk-based decisions.

Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking, global standards, and best practice deployment.

Oversee audits, inspections, and corrective action closure.

Lead environmental performance, decarbonisation, and industrial footprint reduction initiatives.

Own high-risk work systems (PTW, LOTO, MOC, PSSR) and process safety governance.

Ensure robust incident management and organisational learning.

Develop industrial hygiene, occupational health, and PPE strategies.

Ensure emergency preparedness, business continuity, and site security.

Define and deploy effective SHE training for employees and contractors.

Lead and develop the SHE team and strengthen safety leadership across operations.

Act as system owner of the multi-site SHE Management System and internal auditor.

Promote wellbeing and psychosocial risk prevention in collaboration with HR.

Ensure SHE readiness for projects, modifications, and commissioning.

Maintain strong field presence and promote a culture of visible leadership and Stop Work Authority.

Drive performance through meaningful SHE indicators and structured reporting for fact-based decision-making.
What You Will Bring to Us
-
Bachelor/University degree in Safety or Environmental engineering or related fields and 5+ years of related experience, including prior leadership/ supervisory experience.; professional certification preferred.

Prevention Advisor Level 1 mandatory.

Recognized expertise in the chemical industry / Seveso / ATEX / Process Safety / Industrial Hygiene / RCA / Emergency Management.

Influential leadership, managerial courage, diplomacy, role-modelling field, and the ability to challenge respectfully.

Demonstrated technical competence in SH&E field including local and national regulations, technical practices in monitoring and measuring environmental emissions (air, drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, and waste streams), and compliance.

Good Planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
