
Assistant Project Manager (nucléaire)
Job description
For the Section Nuclear Projects we are looking for an Assistant Project Manager, who will be responsible to provide administrative and executive support to the Project Manager on Large Project assignments from an operational point of view (potentially with the objective to learn and comprehend the full scope of the company services and project management practices). You work mainly in Villers-le-Bouillet, occasionally in Dessel and abroad (e.g., France and Germany). Your tasks
• Participate and assist the Project Manager in the project planning, purchasing, time keeping, preparation of work, cost controlling activities from the tendering phase to the project close-out. This is to reach the targeted objectives from a commercial, customer relationship, project implementation, financial turnover, budget, profit, and resources management point of view.
• Watch over the application of safety, security, and quality standards.
• With the Project Manager, participate to the Project Management Plan set up, in order to obtain an overview key parameters of the project
• In collaboration with the Project Manager, you prepare the monthly project reporting by drawing up of the monthly list of indicators.
• Project Scheduling Management
o You participate in the adaptation of the network specific to the project.
o You organize and participate in progress meetings.
o You develop and provide the monitoring and updating of the implementation schedule.
• Project Procurement Management:
o You create and plan the purchasing needs.
o Participate with the Project Manager to the sourcing activities of the project.
o You initiate the purchasing process (from Request For Quotation stage), determining the time periods for the order, delivery, delivery address, etc. and participation in purchases and follow-ups.
o You participate in Kick-off, contract review and other meetings.
o You monitor and follow up of suppliers (progress report, deliverables follow-up, expediting, inspections coordination, contract management, change order management, invoice management)
o Based on the supplier/customer packing lists, you draw up the invoices and the shipping documents.
o You organize the shipping of merchandise with the support of the Traffic department.
• Project Cost Management
o You support the project manager in drawing up the customer invoices.
o You support the project manager in following up on the payments of customer invoices based on the schedule of payments and the progress on the project.
• Customer:
o You support the project manager for customer meeting.
o You support the project manager in building reporting for customer (progress report, change order, claim, …)
Requirements
• An engineering degree in mechanics, chemistry, electromechanics… or commercial diploma level (or equivalent experience)
• Good knowledge of mechanical concepts (and applications within the nuclear sector are a plus).
• Few years of experience in technical or administrative/executive support functions connected with the management of projects of an international nature (nuclear environment is a plus).
• General knowledge of some of the fields concerned: nuclear, radioprotection, chemistry, electricity, electromechanics, automation, hydraulics, etc. allowing you to understand the field of activities in which you are working.
• Time Management - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in fast-paced environments.
• Risk Management - Ability to identify potential risks and assist in developing strategies to mitigate them.
• Organizational Skills - Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Problem Solving - Ability to identify complex problems and provide support in developing effective solutions.
• Analytical and Strategic Thinking - Ability to support the project manager in thinking critically and strategically, developing effective project execution plans.
• Fluent in Dutch or French and English is mandatory (German is a plus);
• Be able to work well in an environment where several projects are taking place at the same time.
• Good affinity with IT and Office 365 Tools.
• You have good interpersonal skills.
