Job description
For one of our customers in Liège, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer.
As part of the company's growth and innovation strategy, they are establishing a new Special Projects area aimed at strengthening the connection between R&D and Operations. The Technical Support Engineer will be involved in this new Special Projects area. This newly defined scope offers exciting opportunities to structure and explore new activities that will lead to fresh insights and innovative solutions.
In this role, the Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in several key areas:
- Product design, Cost efficiency, Assembly process optimization, Supply chain challenges

What You Will Do :
The Special Projects assignments cover five main areas:
End-to-End Digital Maturity on Asset Data Management
- Ensuring every connected outdoor lighting solution is provided with robust asset data
- Daily tracking and tracing of asset data uploads to the platform
Cost Savings and Productivity (in close collaboration with all plants and subcontractors)
- Continuous analysis of cost-saving opportunities
- Brainstorming new ideas
- Prioritizing based on business cases
- Executing and validating cost-saving initiatives through to implementation in manufacturing plants
Customer Excellence – Field Complaint Management (Driver Topics)
- Problem-solving related to connected lighting driver solutions
- Analyzing customer issues involving driver functionality and smart control device performance
- Implementing short-term containment actions and robust long-term solutions to ensure customer satisfaction
Large Tender Support
- Assisting commercial entities in preparing competitive offers for large-volume contracts
- Ensuring the best technical and financial offer proposals
- Collaborating with commercial teams worldwide
Continuous Plant Support
- Identifying alternative components in case of lead time issues for end customers
- Finding solutions for obsolete materials (also contributes to cost savings)
- Working on Special Projects provides a broad scope of challenges and opportunities to interact with all departments within the organization.
Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering or related field)
- 3–5 years of experience in a technical engineering role
- High level of technical expertise in electro-mechanics (without needing to be the expert)
- Experience in cost engineering and value engineering
- Languages: English (C1 level)
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
- Good understanding of systems
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments
- Open mindset for continuous improvement and innovation
- Pragmatic, out-of-the-box thinker
- Agile with quick decision-making capabilities
