R&D mechanical Engineer

Job description

Within the company, the Lifecycle team focuses on upgrading the existing product portfolio for a specific lighting segment.
These upgrades follow the agreed roadmap for upgrades and new options, adhering to timelines and cost-saving measures to maintain market competitiveness.

As a development engineer you are the project owner for product updates, configuration, validation and implementation into the plant.

Product Update

  • Managing updates into SolidWorks
  • Understanding of the available and needed options
  • Understanding of the product structure (mechanical and electromechanical)
  • Proposing improvements
  • Identifying cost savings both on design and materials

Product configuration

  • Managing the configuration of the product
  • Understanding internal and external rules of configuration
  • Identifying and proposing improvements in PLM for the team
  • Being a problem solving person

Project Management

  • Following the project and ensuring that the delivery date will be respected
  • Asking the different departments support in terms of prototyping, validation and implementation into the plant
  • Ensuring a commitment of all the departments on the planning announce

Requirements

  • Engineering Master Degree (mechanical, electromechanical, …)
  • Global experience in R&D and/or production manufacturing environment (5-7 years)
  • Proven knowledge in using and configuring SolidWorks
  • Knowledge and comprehension of PLM (Bluestar is a plus)
  • Language: French and English mandatory (B2). Other languages are a plus (Spanish)
  • Promote collaboration
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Be responsive and accurate
